★廣受好評日本連映長達10個月這故事發生在日本廣島某個純樸鄉鎮，那時夏天蟬鳴、繁花盛開一切如常的風光明媚。
一場傾盆大雨突來，捧腹痛苦的母親即將臨盆癱倒在地，父親、哥哥的內心似乎對映著這場雨還顯得更滂沱與焦躁，而愛美子呆若地一旁看著。
最後肚中的嬰孩不幸離世，憨厚天真的愛美子為了悼念、安慰母親並親手「埋葬」了他，幽微之間可愛家庭悄然地發生劇變。
導演森井勇佑著手改編2011年獲得三島由紀夫獎今村夏子的同名小說集《這邊是愛美子》。
影像字裡行間刻畫著強烈不安的歸屬感，縱然曼妙輕盈的童趣短笛掩蓋不了那殘酷的世界。
