劇情簡介：
在人類肉體能做到的極限裡，愛和記憶是否能夠留下？高木博史（淺野忠信飾）在發生嚴重車禍後失去記憶，他認不得父母的長相。
博史回家休養後，重拾早年對醫學的興趣，考上醫學院，並在那裡遇見有感情問題的模範女學生吉本郁美（KIKI飾）。
博史開始上解剖課，課堂老師要求他們眼見為憑，才能看清現實並做出結論。
但『記憶』既脆弱又複雜。
一位年輕女子開始去「見」博史，與他講求的事實和現實研究形成強烈對比。
他們有時待在他的房間，有時去海灘或陽光普照的森林。
一時間，郁美也在接近博史，想贏得他的好感。
隨著博史的記憶越來越完整，他發現解剖台上的屍體和來「見」自己的女子就是他的前女友涼子（柄本奈美飾），他開始去探望涼子的父母。
郁美嫉妒博史的過去以及他和涼子「持續」的關係。
她開始試著用極端手段引起博史的關心。
隨著時間過去，解剖課也接近尾聲。
博史必須火化涼子的屍體，但他想在她來「見」自己時承諾會永遠陪伴她⋯⋯。

他使用極具原創性的意象及敘述風格，以「城市」為背景，將「肉體」描繪成受制於外力或暴力因素以及衝動或感官的內部刺激。
歐洲和日本有以塑化技術展示人體橫切面的展覽。
展覽引起廣大迴響，尤其是在日本，展期還得延長。
民眾在展場能看到一般只有醫生或相關專家才看得到的真實人體內部。
雖然通常沒有人想看到內臟器官赤裸裸的細節，但大家還是很感興趣。
是什麼如此吸引他們呢？電影主角高木博史是一名醫學生。
他在一場嚴重車禍中僥倖逃過一劫，卻失去記憶。
父母告訴他自己的身分，但這只不過是些資訊。
他不知道自己是誰，有時還分不清楚現實。
他覺得自己的人生仍懸而未決。
但解剖課開始後，事情出現變化。
隨著解剖的進行，博史覺得這具屍體似乎有話要對他說，這些話喚起他「失去」的記憶，創造出「記憶的意象」，最終讓他有所「感觸」宛若重生。
